Promoting Peace & Justice (PPJ) Dhaka

Weekly activities for the duration of 01 November to 07 November 2021

The Public hearing events, host public questions and answer sessions was done in one Kalakopa union of our Nawabganj Upazila under Dhaka district in 02 November-2021. The Public hearing events was organized with the facilitation of Aparajeyo-Bangladesh (local partner of Promoting Peace and Justice -PPJ, Dhaka) and with the initiative of Union Legal Aid Committee. The PPJ project is funded by USAID and implemented by Democracy International. The Public hearing events was run with the consent of the Chairman of union parishad. The respective Programe coordinator and field officer of Aparajeyo Bangladesh facilitated the sessions and also Legal Aid Panel Lawyer Advocate Mr. Md. Mehedi Hasan Murad was the main guest of Public hearing events from District Legal Aid office, Dhaka.

The courtyard meetings were arranged in Six 6 wards under 4 four unions in November- 2021 in our three working Upazilas (Dhamrai, Savar, and Nawabganj) under Dhaka district. This courtyard meeting was organized engaging Union Legal Aid Committee and Aparajeyo-Bangladesh (local partner of Promoting Peace and Justice -PPJ, Dhaka). The PPJ project is funded by USAID and implemented by Democracy International. Courtyard meeting was run with the consent of the Chairman and the Secretary of the following union’s Parishad who are Chairman and Member Secretary of the Union Legal Aid Committee. The respective Field Officer of Aparajeyo Bangladesh facilitated the sessions. At least one Union Legal Aid Committee member was present and provided seating arrangements for the participants of the courtyard meeting.

UPLAC Bi-monthly meeting: The UPLAC bi-monthly meetings was done in one (1) union in 01 November, 2021 of our working Upazila Nawabganj under Dhaka district. This Bi-Monthly meeting were organized with the facilitation of Aparajeyo-Bangladesh (local partner of Promoting Peace and Justice -PPJ, Dhaka) and with the initiative of Union Legal Aid Committee. The PPJ project is funded by USAID and implemented by Democracy International. Bi-Monthly Meetings was run with the consent of the Chairman and the Secretary of the following union’s Parishad who are Chairman and Member Secretary of the Union Legal Aid Committee. The respective Field Officer of Aparajeyo Bangladesh facilitated the sessions. In these bi-monthly meetings in a total of 7 numbers of participants (Male-3, Female-4) attended.

Miking on legal aid: The miking on legal aid was done in Savar Upazila under Dhaka district in 04 November 2021. This miking on legal aid was organized with joint co-operation of District and Upazila Legal Aid Committee, Dhaka and Aparajeyo-Bangladesh (local partner of Promoting Peace and Justice -PPJ, Dhaka). The PPJ project is funded by USAID and implemented by Democracy International. The miking on legal aid was run with the consent of the Chairman and the Secretary of the following Upazila parishads who are Chairman and Member Secretary of the Upazila Legal Aid Committee and they provided us miking on legal aid certificate.
